Previous Band-in-a-Box Styles were limited to 2 substyles ("a" and "b"). Inside Band-in-a-Box, there are styles that can have anywhere from 4 to 24 substyles. The Audio Wizard also figures out tempo, bar lines, key and fine-tuning from the MP3, WAV or WMA audio file. Just load in any MP3 file and you'll instantly see the chords. The amazing "Chords from MP3" feature (Audio Chord Wizard) automatically figures out the chords from any MP3, WAV or WMA audio file, and displays them in Band-in-a-Box. RealTracks can be built in to the style, and would replace either the bass, guitar, piano, or strings part, or they can be generated to the Soloist (or Melody) track using the Soloist feature.

I loaded the track into a Pro Tools session and it became a daily practice track for my continued study of C6th Pedal Steel. I posted this practice track above, it took 5 min to create it with the exact chords I wanted, I did not clean it up as a performance track.

If you have better synth sounds you can use them, you are not stuck with the PC or MAC synth tones. Go up to the BIAB website and have a listen to some of the tracks. The end result is based on how much we put in. Does it replace a band of good players ? Probably not, don't expect it to. It is loaded with templates to view and listen to. It's very easy and FAST to create a simple track, but should you want to embellish, well that will take some seat time. If you want it to be simple simple it is, but it can do many things very well based on how much you want to put into it. Yes, but it's up to YOU, it's just software.
